The PHOEBE ENGLISH STRIPED OVERSIZED TOP Kit contains 16 x fabric pattern pieces with varying subtle textual qualities in either black or white colours, 1 x 100% cotton matching thread, video tutorials and an instruction booklet.

 

This is PHOEBE ENGLISH’s first-ever sew-it-yourself kit, intended to provide an exclusive insight into the designer’s signature usage of dead-stock textile and craftsmanship. Phoebe English has designed a top that inhabits a straightforward, natural and utilitarian look whilst tackling the negative environmental impacts of fast fashion. This is achieved by rooting the brand’s ethos and practice in repurposing dead-stock materials, designing for longevity and ensuring all production is made in London.

 

The kit enables the maker to create a sustainable couture designer garment at home, with 8 easy to follow stages with the assistance of video sew-along demonstrations with the Phoebe English team. The pre-cut fabric pieces will be labelled with the carefully considered numerical order of the fabric stripes, allowing for a simplified experience of following the construction steps. We recommend this project for intermediate sewists and will take 2-4 hours to complete, depending on the finishings selected by the sewist. 

 

All the materials are expertly cut and thoughtfully selected to satisfy the visual and tactile senses whilst obtaining the desired drape on the body.
